Chas Martin helps organizations achieve change.
By reframing questions, challenging assumptions, and opening doors to new ideas, Chas Martin guides individuals, teams and organizations to see the invisible and create innovative alternatives. Martin helps clients generate scenarios and execute strategies for new business models, products, new alliances and new services. 

He has provided creative leadership for a variety of organizations including SAS Institute, Sprint, The Natural Step Network, U.S. Marine Corps Center for Business Excellence, Parker Brothers Games and Cutter Laboratories. Additional clients include InFocus, EthicsPoint, Snap Names, and Mentor Graphics. He has also assisted multiple startups and small businesses in defining their potential, expanding their options and achieving their goals.

As an art director, writer, creative director and marketing strategist, Martin’s career path integrates marketing communications with online and classroom education, and entertainment. These paths converge to create a unique foundation for innovative leadership.

As a team builder, leader and mentor, he encourages inclusion of diverse personalities, values and perspectives within project teams. Through informal, sometimes unstructured activities, he shares techniques like intersectional thinking, parallel thinking and lateral thinking to help others discover unconventional ideas. The goal of InnovativEye, his consulting practice, is to alter how decision makers perceive their options.

He is a former instructor at Boston Art Institute, San Francisco Academy of Art College, Pacific Northwest College of Art and Northwest Academy. He also publishes his observations on leadership, innovation, and management as a contributor to VISIONS, a publication of the Product Development and Management Association.

When not working, his focus shifts to bonsai, backpacking, fly fishing, landscape painting, cooking – basically any activity that provides a learning opportunity. Martin lives in Portland.
